Meet Facetheory: the affordable skincare brand

*Advertisement information: this post discusses items gifted to me by the brand, with no obligation to share them

Are you familiar with skincare range Facetheory? I’ve been incorporating their products into my everyday routine for a few months now and feel it’s time for me to share my thoughts!

The Facetheory story

I find the skincare market is currently saturated with brands who claim to care and be kind to your skin, making it hard to know where to start. Their website suggests they aim to provide “skincare that works, that’s vegan, and that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg”. In addition they’re not on cruelty free but also vegan, with no added parabans. A mammoth 95%  of their products are available in amber glass jars, complete with aluminium lids to ensure they can be recycled. Even their packaging is biodegradable! One factor I found really impressive is that they have a 365 day money back guarantee which indicates they’re fully confident you’ll love their products. The price point is excellent and probably the most expensive product I saw on the website was around the £20 mark. If all this isn’t enough to convince you, they also have a rewards club so you can earn when you spend. What’s not to love?

The products

Time to discuss the main act - the products. I’ve accumulated quite a Facetheory collection on my skincare shelf , which I’ve been using for a couple of months. My skin type is on the drier side and I tend to have the odd hormonal breakout on my chin each month. I generally look for actives which will resurface any skin texture and hydrate my skin.

The first step in my routine has been the Freshening Face Wash C4 (£10.99 for 140ml) which is a gel wash which foams on contact with water. It aids to wash away impurities and also makeup, with a gentle bergamot scent. My skin feels clean and soft post-use, without any tightness or aggravation. The website states it’s suited to combination/oily skin types but my drier skin texture has no issues with it at all.

Next up are the serums which have serious actives to up the skincare game a notch. The Elaquate Serum S11 (£15.99 for 30ml) is ideal for dull, dehydrated and combination skin. This is to be applied to clean, damp skin concentrating on any fine lines or dry patches. The science behind the serum suggests minerals, amino acids and electrolytes work to deeply replenish moisture. I reach for this in a morning and it’s easily absorbed, prior to moisturiser application.

Before bed I tend to reach for the Porebright Serum N10 (£15.99 for 30ml) containing niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid and azaelic acid. This guy is heavy duty and I always notice real results afterwards, but it still only contains 10% niacinamide. I can pinpoint far less pigmentation, redness and skin texture after a week of continued use. I’ll always add moisturiser afterwards. Which brings me nicely on to the next step in my routine.

The moisturiser suggested to me for my skin type is Ceraquench Renewal Cream M6 (£18.49 for 50ml). Great for normal/dry skin and anti-ageing concerns, this cream contains ceramides, stabilised vitamin c and retinol. Johoba, rosehip and argan oil works to hydrate skin. I find the texture of the cream thick but not too thick and it’s still absorbent if worn underneath makeup. An excellent moisturiser and one I’d return to for continued everyday use.

The final piece of my Facetheory collection is the Green Tea Face Mask (£15.99 for 60ml). Suitable for every skin type, this mask is enriched with chamomile, green tea and French clay. I used this last night before bed and the scent was so calming, just 10 minutes left my skin feeling replenished. Sometimes masks can irritate my skin and cause redness, but this really works to soothe my skin. Another winning product from the superb range at Facetheory.

Is that a thumbs up?

I’m incredibly impressed with the products and their results. The packaging is inoffensive and sustainable, it does the job being fuss free. I really love the fact the brand is vegan and cruelty free. I feel confident in the brand and that when I reach for their products, I know they’re going to provide results. I thought everything I’ve tried worked well, but I’m particularly wowed by the moisturiser and the porebright serum.

What do you recommend from Facetheory or what’s on your wish list?
