5 Makeup Bag Must Haves

When your life is feeling rushed and hectic, it is handy to have a select few beauty products that you can count on to get the job done. Having 5 items that you know will never let you down is perfect for days where you need to look put together in a hurry.
P.S The makeup bag featured above is from Spectrum and costs £16.99. Can we just take a moment to appreciate it's marble and rose gold beauty?

1. Crease-Free Concealer

I purchased Time Balm Concealer around a week ago and it has quickly taken place as my favourite everyday cover up. It is from The Balm and costs £15 for 7.5g of product. It boasts that it is a creaseless concealer and when I apply two layers of this under my eyes it stays all day. The shade I opted for is “Lighter than Light” to give a brightening, wide awake appearance.

 2. Magnificent Mascara

Benefit are the Queens of the mascara world for me and for someone who loves to wear false lashes, this gives me the curl and lift I desire for everyday use. Roller Lash comes in at £19.50 for 8.5g of product, although a little pricier than drugstore mascaras, this is worth every penny. My regualr, straight lashes hold a defined curl with ease all day long.

 3. Flawless Finishing Powder

NYX cosmetics used to be difficult to get your hands on in the UK, but now we have counters in Boots stores nationwide! Their Studio FinishingPowder comes in at a reasonable £8 and is reminiscent of the Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder at a fraction of the price. With a translucent finish, I find this holds my makeup in place all day and never looks heavy or thick over other makeup.

4. Heavenly Highlight

Even on the days where I wear minimal makeup, I never skip the highlighting step from my routine. A healthy glow to the cheeks adds radiance and gives an awake look even on my lack-lustre skin days. Becca “GlowOn The Go” kit contains Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight and Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in cute, miniature sizes for £20. I swipe the powder at the tops of cheeksbones, down the center of my nose and along the brow bone for a radiant sheen.

5. Luscious Liquid Lips

Liquid lipsticks have definitely had their moment in 2016, with the majority of beauty brands releasing their own collections of liquid lipsticks or stains. Kat Von D Lovesick Everlasting Liquid Lipstick  is a cool toned, nude – mauve shade that is versatile and would go with a number of makeup looks, from fresh faced to a smoky eye. Coming in at £16 for such a highly developed, quality liquid lipstick, I think it is actually under-priced in comparison to some of it's competitors.  Never drying on the lips, this is easy to apply and does not need regular top ups throughout the day due to the solid staying power.
