Away We Go! August 2014 Birchbox

After a long, stressful day in the office, there is nothing that cheers me up more than arriving home to find my Birchbox sat there waiting for me. I had been a tad naughty and had sneaked a peak on the Birchbox website at this month's theme. Away we go is all about your travel sized essentials and what to throw into your carry on, which I could not be more thrilled with as I am due to jump on a plane to Florida next month!
All this month's handy little travel beauties were not all packed within a little drawstring tote, but this zip up clear Birchbox bag printed with ice lollies - how adorable? I also received a lovely little lifestyle extra which is the first chapter of novel "The Proposa" by Tasmina Perry. So let's have a peak at what was hiding in this months bag!

Supergoop Daily Correct SPF 35 CC cream| 2x3ml | RRP £32 for full size
At the moment, I am definitely in the market for a good CC cream, something that has a little coverage, but something I can wear comfortably in a hotter climate. This ticks all the boxes! I received the shades light to medium and the interesting thing about this is that the shade is self adjusting. The shade somehow blends perfectly with my skintone but at £32 a tube I am unsure if it is worth it. I shall continue with it over the course of a few days and see how it works out for my skin.
Nude Progenius Omega Treatment Oil | 5ml | RRP £58.00

This was most definitely my absolute favourite item from this month's box. Containing omega oils 3, 6, 7 and 9, the oil provides the perfect ingredients for a healthy diet for the skin. I applied a few drops to my fingers after cleansing and tapped into my face. Luxuriously soft and beautiful, this would be worth the splurge. However, it suggests you can apply morning and evening, but for me I would prefer this in the evening as I feel my makeup may slide with this underneath.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect | 30ml | RRP £20

Leave in conditioning spray is something that I will use up on holiday, every last drop! I tested this on damp hair after washing and it left my hair far more manageable. My hair does tangle very easily, leaving knotty, uncomfortable drying time. Using a wide tooth comb, I combed this through and I shall be saving the rest of the bottle for my holiday!

Wild About Beauty Crème Eyshadow | Full Size | RRP £13

When I first opened this shadow and swatched it, I was a tad disheartened. For £13 and an eyeshadow which is a favourite of Louise Redknapp, I was not blown away. Then, this morning I had a simple slick of black liner with a small wing and applied this all over my lid with my finger. It left a lovely wash of colour and just a hint of shimmer, as opposed to a full blown bronze/brown shade.

Vasanti Brightenup! Enzymatic Face Rejuvenator | 20g | RRP £26

On wet skin, I massaged this over my face after I had removed my makeup. My skin felt refreshed and instantly softer, like it had cleaned far deeper than normal. A little does go along way and I found it was not too abrasive on my skin. Lovely, but unsure I could part with £26 for it!
