Is Sunday Riley Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment a skincare essential?

*Ad information: this post discusses items gifted to me by the brand, with no obligation to share my views

I’ve noted a few skincare brands on my “To Try” list and Sunday Riley is at the very top. When the brand reached out and asked if I’d like to try out the Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment I was so excited. More about that in a minute.

Sunday Riley is a female-owned, founder-owned brand renowned for science based formulations, packed with active ingredients. They’re a cruelty free brand with many of their formulas being vegan and all of them vegetarian. Not only do they create the highest quality products, but they’re advocates for sustainability and human rights which you can read more about here

The Good Genes Glycolic Acid Treatment comes in at £85.00 for 30ml of product, which is more than I’d normally spend on a skin treatment of this size. The formulation is a cream serum and can be applied to skin both morning and night. I have been using this for several weeks and find that one pump is enough for my entire face.

Glycolic acid works to exfoliate skin but also repair sun damaged, dull or congested skin allowing for a complexion which looks healthier and brighter. The treatment also contains prickly pear which is ideal for sensitive skin and works to calm and soothe the complexion.

I recall the first evening I used this, I woke up with noticeably less skin texture and my skin was far less lack-lustre. There is no denying the product is pricey but I received instant results, which is what I want from a product in this price range. When my skin is looking tired or dull, I’ve been reaching for this. Initially I was using it daily but feel my skin reaps the benefit even if I only use it once or twice a week.

I’ve no doubt that now I’ve been introduced to the world of Sunday Riley, it will be a constant in my skincare regime. Another pro for me is that many of their hero products are available in various sizes, meaning you can try out the smaller sizes before committing to a full size. Next up on my to try list is the Luna Sleeping Night Oil..
