Rehydrating with the Bioderma Hydrabio Range

I’m completely over downing two litres of water each day to try and achieve hydrated, glowing skin. The truth of the matter is, no matter how much water I consume, my skin will always thirst for the products that provide maximum moisture.

Bioderma has been a frequent visitor in my skincare routine for 10 years. During a trip to Paris in 2011, I recall having Bioderma Micellar Water on my “to buy” list. It was one of those products (and still is) that was essential for the skincare cabinet and is entirely, the OG micellar product.

The Bioderma Hydrabio range is dedicated to dehydrated skin, providing a complete routine from cleansing to skincare products. The everyday holy grail right now consists of the specific cleanser for dehydrated skin (micellar water), moisture-generating serum and a luxe cream.

We know how efficient micellar water is but sometimes can leave my skin feeling drier. Hydrabio H20 Moisturising Micellar Water is however an exception to the rule. I really notice the feeling of soft, moisturised skin after use without a feeling of tightness or dryness. It’s gentle but effective enough to use morning and evening. I squeeze the water onto a cotton pad, swipe across face and neck. There’s no requirement to rinse afterwards, unless you want to of course.

Now for the technical bit. The water contains Fatty Acid Esters (FAE’s) are similar to the phospholipids of skin membranes. They naturally help to rebuild skin’s hydrolipidic film. This is how it works to leave skin feeling comfortable and hydrated after use

Next up, the serum step is crucial. A serum allows skin to retain opti moisture and adds an extra hydration barrier into your routine. Hydrabio Sérum Moisturising Concentrate only needs two pumps to cover my face and neck. I massage this in until it’s completely absorbed into my skin. It doesn’t have a silicon texture (I really dislike silicon feel products on my skin) but more of a water, gel consistency. When applied beneath makeup, it doesn’t create a barrier or mix with the product.

It contains those key active ingredients: Hyaluronic Acid, Glycerin and Xylitol to stimulate the skins hydration.

Finally we have the pièce de résistance, the
Hydrabio Crème rich, moisturising cream. This has a really fresh, light fragrance and can be applied using the tiny spatula that comes neatly packaged inside the box. It’s a rarity that I find a moisturiser that really provides softness, comfort and leaves skin hydrated hours after use.

The Salycilic Acid equalises and smoothes the skin’s surface. Vitamin E protects skin and works to combat premature ageing.

Have you tried Bioderma? Which range is your go to?
