Current Haircare Routine

They say blondes have more fun, but I’m going to be real with you all and say caring for blonde locks can be tough. Maintaining a clean, blonde shade and keeping hair hydrated can be difficult to juggle. Over the past few years, I’ve streamlined my hair wardrobe to ensure I’m using only the products and tools which leave my hair looking it’s healthiest.

Previously I’d switch up my shampoos and conditioners frequently, never really staying with one brand. There have been times where I’m easily coerced into buying that new shampoo that’s on offer in the haircare aisle but isn’t necessarily the right formula for me.

To be clear, I wash my hair once maybe twice a week and will use a scalp scrub once a week. I will always opt for an intense hair mask or conditioner too. I mainly use my Dyson hairdryer and on the odd occasion let it air dry if I really can’t be bothered. A styling product is always incorporated even if I’m not heat styling and I generally opt for a hair oil or serum.

Hair wash routine
I have two combinations when I wash my hair, rotating them when I have different concerns:

Hair tools
  • As I mentioned earlier the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer is what I use to blow dry my hair when I’ve washed it. I don’t often use another heat styling tool afterwards because the finish is brilliant. If you’ve tried it do you think it’s worth the splurge?
  • If I do use a straightener it’s the GHD Max Straightener, I really don’t enjoy thin plates.
  • When I curl my hair it’s a soft curl created with GHD Curve Classic Wand. One day I’ll get the hang of it!

Hair treatments and styling
One last thing I wanted to mention is my Silke London Hair Turban which keeps my hair smooth at night, knot free and also prevents it from getting greasy.

I thought I’d finish off with a quick hair growth update. The left was taken last week and the right March 2021. I can only suggest the growth boost has been down to the above products, less washing and much less heat styling,

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you found this post helpful and that maybe you’ve found something you want to try.

What is your hair type and what are some of your favorites? Are there any new recent discoveries or hair picks you want to share?
