An evening with Umberto Giannini

I have always tried to fight against my naturaly wavy, kinky locks by means of products or heat appliances. It’s only as I’ve got a little older that I’ve tried to work with my hairs natural texture and in turn actually come to realise it looks more me than when I try and squeeze the life out of my hair with straighteners. 

 When Umberto Giannini invited me to their event in Birmingham to celebrate their new Curls Are In range I absolutely jumped at the chance! It’s all about creating styles you’re proud of whilst working with the hair texture you already have. 

 The evening was filled with laughter and talk of new products (with a few cocktails and nibbles thrown in!) I even got to take my best friend along which made it even more wonderful that I got to share the experience with her. 

It’s wonderful when you’re able to meet a fellow blogger who you’ve followed for some time and interact with them - Hi Jasmine, I’m talking about you girl! I met so many great people and we talked about our passions and ideas, it was such a creative space filled with love. I also met so many new bloggers and even people I will continue being friends with moving forwards, that’s what makes these evening so special so thank you UG for gifting us new connections and friends. 

 The highlight of the evening for me was definitely having my hair consultation, followed by a restyle with Umberto Giannini brand ambassador Anastasia Stylianou. She works her natural hair fantastically and used texturising products along with a curling barrel to create movement in my hair. 

My recommended picks from the evening have to be the beach care shampoo and conditioner, which contain coconut oil and shea butter to restore hairs moisture (they worked a treat on my dry bleached locks!) The mermaid hair volume mousse is a lightweight, almost whipped mousse that adds volume and texture to hair without leaving a crunchy residue - and it smells divine. Did I mention all the UG products are also vegan? What’s not to love!
