My Skincare Picks For Dry Skin

Sunday Funday has been exactly that!

I have lapped up each and every second of being in my pyjamas all day, accompanied by Netflix and chocolate.

Today I thought I’d share the products I’m currently using that I have found help my extremely dry skin. Although my skin has never been problematic and I’ve never really suffered from breakouts (other than the odd hormonal one that appears on my chin every month) it does get dry and dehydrated. I’ve compiled my little go to list of products that do it for me. Here we are.

Taking off the day

For initial removal, I like to go in with a micellar water or something I can squeeze into a cotton pad to just wipe of the excess. Garnier Micellar Milky Cleansing Water is my preference because the formula actually leaves my skin clear but also dewy. Some micellar waters dry out my sensitive skin but this one actually adds moisture.
To go in for my second cleanse which I like to be a bit more nourishing, I use Lush Ultrabland cleanser.
I apply this with my fingers gently all over the face and remove with a warm, damp cotton pad. It’s so gentle on my skin and leaves my face feeling ever so soft. The almond oil and rose water are really evident in this cleanser.

Face Maskin’

I like to try and apply a face mask twice a week to ensure my skin is really getting everything it needs, like doing a deep dive at the start and end of the week. The most effective mask I’ve been using recently is Procoal London Instaclear Control Mask. This is a sheet mask with a difference.. one mask contains 25g of serum combined with a variety of botanical extracts. Containing rice bran oil which is a potent anti-aging ingredient, this mask really gives a dose of everything my skin needs. There are no parabens, silicones or mineral oils and the masks are completely vegan, aswell as not tested on animals.

Totally hot right?

Eye Care

Similarly, my undereyes also experience dryness. The very best product I have ever used is without a doubt Dr Botanicals pomegranate superfood brightening eye serum. It comes in a dropper type bottle, so the amount you use is entirely controlled (I tend to use it twice a day, using a little less in the morning). Pomegranate is high in antioxidants and can help to smoothe and brighten the undereye area. Raspberry seed oil is high in fatty acids and vitamin e, used to mouisturise and protect skins complexion. Best. Eye. Product. EVER

In between my makeup removal and moisturising, I ensure I apply a toner. My favourite for so many years has been Pixi Glow Tonic when I first purchased it from theirs flagship store on Carnaby Street, London. So when they released their Rose Tonic, I knew I needed to try it. It didn’t disappoint.
The ingredient Rose Hydrosol hydrates and neutralizes skin, and appears to reduce the redness in my skin. It helps to normalise hydration levels and gently removes any impurities, like a mini exfoliation but not as upsetting for my skin!

Hydration Station

I NEVER apply makeup, or go a single day without moisturising. Even if my skin is bare, I will always wear mouisturiser because my skin cries out for it.
Every morning and before my makeup, I opt for Pixi Rose Ceramide Cream. Enriched with cersmides and rose oil, this cream not only smells like a dream but it leaves my skin feeling plump and fresh but not at all greasy. This cream also contains probiotics to help protect and balance my skin.

My evening cream comes in the form of Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream which first and foremost smells like a dream. This is packed with Manuka Honey from New Zealand, which is like an injection of hydration for skin. I apply this every evening to face and neck, initially it is visible on skin but sinks in to reveal revitalised, smoothe skin the next morning. Absolutely a must for a dehydrated complexion!
