Skincare 2018

Hey everyone!

Since the start of this month, I have been using some new skincare treats that have helped to re-energise my skin and quench my winter-thirsty skin.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil | £24 for 200ml | Find it here

The skincare step that takes the most effort at the end of a long day is the initial removal of long wearing, heavy duty makeup. I love a waterproof brow pomade, makeup set with powder and a lot of eyeliner and mascara which means lots to remove. Cleansing oil is my absolute best friend to ensure it is all removed in one quick swoop.
The DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is the latest cleansing oil to be added to my routine and all I have to do is take 1-2 pumps of this to remove my face for the day. I like to spend time massaging this into my skin and normally leave it for around a minute to really work into the skin. I rinse with water and like magic, my makeup is removed and there is no oily residue left behind!
Rich in antioxidants and vitamins but incredible and removing even stubborn makeup, it's clear to see why a bottle of this is sold every 10 seconds worldwide.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Fragrance Free | £28 for 50ml | Find it here

I know this product is no revelation and i first discovered this in my teenage years when my mom used to swear by this product. This is my second repurchase of this as the tubes do last a very long time because a little definitely goes a long way. However, when i repurchased I opted for the fragrance free, but it isn't so much the fragrance I find offensive but the taste on my lips.
The main reason I love this product is because it works like a dream on chapped, winter traumatised lips. Just a tiny pea sized amount is enough to coat lips, cuticles and I even pop some on my lashes on occasion. If you have any type of skin burn it also works wonders!

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream | £18 for 75ml | Find it here
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Crush Body Fragrance Mist | £18 for 90ml | Find it here
Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuaçu Lip Butter | £15 for 6.2g | Find it here

When I was in Sephora whilst on holiday in Las Vegas, I found myself drawn to the Sol de Janeiro stand. Everywhere online has been littered with reviews on the Bum Bum cream and I knew I needed to see what the fuss was about. Boy did I see..

Bum Bum cream is a rich, thick body cream that helps to increase circulation and soften skin with it's hero ingredient (guaraná, a native Amazonian plant that is one of the most potent forms of caffeine on the planet). Did I mention that it smells like nutty, sweet heaven too?

If I could be fragranced with one scent forever, I would genuinely choose the Brazilian Crush Body Mist. It is layered with notes of pistachio and salted caramel, making it reminiscent of a beautiful summer holiday. This can be spritzed all over body layered with the Bum Bum cream and even misted into hair. It really is something special.

During my office days, I enjoy a soft, nourished lip so the Lip Butter is perfect for the everyday. Infused with infused with cupuaçu, açaí and coconut oil, this really is a lip treat in one quick swipe. And of course, the smell is gorgeous.

Lancome Energie De Vie Nuit Sleeping Mask | £45 for 75ml | Find it here

I suffer from a drier skin type and finding products that inject enough moisture into my skin can be a challenge. With a soft, gel consistency, I apply this at night before bed in a thin, even layer and simply sleep in it and then cleanse my face as usual the next morning. It doesn't feel sticky or wet when applied but I can feel it soaking into my skin which indicates my skin actually drinks this product up. I like an intense night time product to use at least every other evening but I do still love my origins avocado infused night time mask which is slightly less pricey.

Pixi Rose Caviar Essence | £26 For 45ml | Find it here
&
Pixi Rose Flash Balm | £26 For 45ml | Find it here

Essence is something I have been using maybe for the last 6 months and is something that has changed the way I do skincare. It is the requirement before moisturiser and serums that helps to lock those products in. A light, rose fragranced liquid-gel that you press into skin leaving a plump, refreshed feel ready for your next skincare step. It really does help to pull that moisture into your face from your next skincare products.

Flash balm is a light, lotion consistency that is absolutely beautiful sitting underneath makeup. My skin looks light and plump, without any oily residue sliding across my face. I could quote happily leave the house wearing just this product, as it definitely helps to calm my skin and leave it glowing. This can also be applied in different variations for a more heavy moisturiser or even mask, with a light layer working as a primer.
