Pixi Rose Flash Balm, Rose Caviar Essence & MatteLast Liquid Lip Review

Hey everyone,

Let me start by saying I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you all have an amazing New Year. As I’m writing this blog post, I’m en route to Heathrow. Today is the day I fly to Vegas! But you’ll hear more about that soon.

Today I’m talking about the beautiful package that arrived for me from the gang at Pixi Beauty. Last week a package of sheer beauty landed on my doorstep and I had to share it with you. This has to be one of the prettiest PR packages I have ever received.

It’s hard for me to resist a product that is rose scented, I’m immediately sucked in by the sweet, comforting smell. Earlier this year, the brand who know how to do skincare released two brand new rose infused skin treats. I know they will be quickly joining my list of favourite picks from Pixi and go hand in hand with their legendary Glow Tonic.

If the heavenly, pastel packaging isn’t enough to make you reach for this duo I think the ingredients will be..

Rose Caviar Essence | £26 for 45ml | Find it here

Essence is a skincare product I began using half way through this year and have religiously used daily ever since. Think of it as an extra moisture surge in between your toner and moisturiser.
The Caviar Essence was applied after toner and looks similar to a serum, and squeezes out of the tube unlike other essences I have tried which have been in liquid form. After taking a pea sized blob, I press this into the face taking care not to rub and aggregate my skin. It has a weightless, gel texture and is packed with tiny flecks that contain fresh rose and flower oils. My skin can only be describes as fresh and plump after using this essence.

After using the essence, this balm is the perfect accompaniment to really ensure your skin is smelling of roses quite literally.
The Flash balm is an oil free, 3 in 1 product that can be used to moisturise, prime or as an intense mask. After squeezing a 50p sized blob onto fingertips, I gently rub this into skin and neck using soft, circular motions. My skin is daily dry so this may be too much for most people but for someone with drier skin texture like mine it was the perfect amount to give me a surge of hydration. There was definitely a plumpness to my skin afterwards and my pores looked almost invisible. The rose water and olive leaf extracts make this a real treat for lacklustre skin.

MatteLast Liquid Lip | £16 | Find them here

The matte lip trend is one that isn’t going away anytime soon. I love the finish of a matte lip but as time has progressed I enjoy a slightly more nourishing lip finish. Packed with rosehip oil, these lip colours not only last for hours but they don’t feel remotely drying on the lip. Pixi have really nailed this formula to create a comfortable, more wearable matte lip.
Last weekend, I attended a wedding and was there for around 12 hours. I only reapplied my Liquid Lip once during the day after eating a three course dinner.
The shade selection is beautiful and although it’s a nude collection there is something to suit everyone, from light nude to a deep rose.

See below my swatches of the entire shade collection of MatteLast Liquid Lip!

I’m wearing shade Au Naturelle in the above image.

Hopefully you enjoyed this review as much as I enjoyed trying out these products.
