My Top 3 Body Creams For Autumn

Hey Everyone!

As you probably already know, I’m super excited for the Autumn (or Fall for my US readers!) months and cannot wait to enjoy cosy candles, scary movies and snuggly sweaters. But one thing that I don’t love is my skin feeling lack-lustre and dehydrated. My already dry skin tends to suffer during the colder months so I like to ensure I’m armed with my favourite body creams to keep my skin in good condition throughout Autumn and Winter. Here are my top 3!

 MalÄ“e Conditioning Body Cream | £20 for 200ml | here

“My number one intenisve body cream”

Filled with 100% natural active ingredients, this cream has to be the most beautifully scented body cream I have ever used. My skin can be quite sensitive, so to use a cream infused with naturally occurring plants, fruits and oils found in Africa is perfect for me.

  • Nourishing Coconut Oil
  • Cera Alba (also known as white beeswax)
  • Avocado Oil (high in vitmains A, B & D)
  • Sweet Almond Oil (high in vitamin A, B1, B2 & B6)
  • Wheat Germ Oil (high in Vitamin E)

I apply this every day, following a shower or bath and normally before bed to provide a super intense surge of hydration. The scent is so luxe and definitely more of a mature scent, fresh with a hit on sweetness and it lingers on my skin for hours. After application, there isn’t any greasy residue and the cream simply melts into my skin. Malee products are kind to the environment, just as they are with your skin. Their products are free from mineral oils, silicones and animal- derived ingredients, as well as being cruelty free!

Lush Sleepy | £7.95 for 95g | Find it here

“A wonderful night’s sleep without counting sheep!”

During the week, I will often wake in the middle of the night and then struggle to get back into a rhythmic sleep pattern and when I am up most morning at around 6.15am, every bit of beauty sleep counts!! This tends to happen when I am feeling particularly stressed or busy, so I can pinpoint when the restless nights will occur.

Lush Sleepy has sparked a sell out in many Lush stores throughout the country and with articles, reviews and blog posts raving about the cream online this doesn’t surprise me. From life-long insomniacs to parents with hard-to-settle toddlers, Sleepy’s blend of oatmeal and lavender has helped many on their journey to a great night’s sleep (without having to count sheep!)

I’m going to be honest, I absolutely love the scent. Growing up, there has always been Lavender growing in the garden so for me it’s a very nostalgic, comforting scent and blended with the warm, sweet oatmeal it makes for a perfect bedtime combination. Consecutively for three nights during a particularly busy week, I applied the cream all over my body before climbing into bed. For those three nights, I experienced a totally undisturbed night’s sleep. So, the fourth night that I didn’t apply the cream, I woke at around 2am and struggled to fall back to sleep, waking up several times after this also. Is it the placebo effect or does the cream actually work?

  • Comforting Scent
  • Regulates Sleep Pattern
  • Natural Ingredients
From a hydration aspect, this cream provides my skin with a light layer of hydration but isn’t a moisturiser I would reach for when my skin feels super dry. Sleep does allow me to have a fantastic night’s sleep and that’s why I love it so much.

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey Soothing & Restoring Body Lotion | £8.50 for 200ml | Find it here

“Great everyday moisturiser”

One of my favourite everyday body moisturisers is this one from The Body Shop and is perfect for applying when you jump out of the shower and want a light hydration, on a work day for example. It feels light on the skin and won’t stick to clothes leaving you feeling uncomfortable. The Body Shop are most definitely one of my favourite high street body and skincare brands and are also very affordable.  Did I mention many of their products are vegan an cruelty free?!

The smell of almond and honey together has to be one of my favourite combinations, I think the two are so complimentary together. The scent isn’t remotely overpowering and so I can layer perfume on top without it creating a toxic-smelling combination!

  • Light and Absorbs Easily
  • Gentle On Skin
  • Great Everyday Cream
  • Perfect For Sensitive Skin
