Subscription Boxes UK – Christmas Editions!

Hi everyone!

December is my birthday month and along with being incredibly excited for that day and also Christmas, I also get excited every year for the December edition of my subscription boxes. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the boxes and all their fabulous contents!

Glossybox

This month’s box had a personal touch which always makes it that little bit more special for the subscriber. We were given the option to choose between two seasonal lipstick shades, in either sugar or spice, sugar being a nude brown tone and spice being a deep winter red. The box itself is a beautifully designed, white box with gold detailing and “Mistletoe Kisses” written on the side of the box which made me smile when I spied it on the side of the box.
Contents:

Browcote Waterproof Brow Sealer – So all remember Lipcote, the company that helped us keep many a statement lip in place over the years? Well the same company have now released Browcote, a clear gel applied over your chosen brow product or direct to natural to set them in place. Genius.

Essence Light Up Your Face Luminizer Palette – A trio of three relatively pigmented face shades to be used to highlight. Also, pretty sure it is worth purchasing (for a mere £3!) just for the rose gold shade.

Revlon Nail Enamel Grey Suede – This is what I call a necessity shade. Something we should all own in our collection that can be worn every day for a classic, polished look. Possibly my favourite item from the box.

Gosh Single Eyeshadow – I found this to probably be my least favourite item of the bunch because I am unsure I will wear it (may try it smudge into the upper and lower lashline). However, I will say the shadow is pigmented and has a soft texture.

MDM Flow Lipstick – Okay, sorry Revlon Nail Enamel, but this was definitely my top pick from this month’s box. Worth £18, this lipstick is buttery yet semi-matte and doesn’t have that gross, drying texture when settled on the lips.

Birchbox

The design of this month’s box was probably the best aspect of this month’s lack-lustre festive box. Although the products inside were quality items, I expected perhaps a show stopper item. I enjoyed the sleek way the box opens and the festive shade of red.
Contents:

Ciate London Fierce Flicks Eyeliner – Genuinely don’t think I could ever have too many liquid eyeliners! I tend to get through them fairly quickly as I wear it every day.
Laqa & Co Eyelighter – I don’t think I actually own a product at all similar to this one. To be used under the brows or as an inner corner of the eye highlight, this will be a perfect addition to a bold party eye look. Applies smoothly and is a sheen as opposed to a glitter. Top marks!

Amie Skincare New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish – First of all, the name is quite a mouthful! But the product is to the point, does the job, no problems. I am also pleased to see no plastic balls in the exfoliant (they are harmful to the environment, particularly the ocean).

Leighton Denny Nail Polish in Just Perfect  – Nail polish seems to be a hit with this month’s beauty boxes.  That perfect, everyday pink nude with a slight hit of apricot. A shade I can wear all year round and really get my use out of.

Benefit Air Patrol BB Cream Eyelid Primer – A little benefit sample can never fail to make a girl smile. This is used alone or underneath makeup as an extra step to colour correct or prime the eyelids ready for eye makeup.

Hope you enjoyed the comparison of my two monthly subscription boxes and seeing them side by side. This wasn't a post to see which box was my favourite as I thoroughly enjoy receiving both subscriptions and think both boxes have brilliant content.

Thanks for reading!
